Kaarel Vanamölder contributes to the project by researching historical writings of the nobility at the end of the 17th century and the beginning of the 18th. Upon closer examination, the object of his study is a so-called historiographical chain made up of three chronicles. The authors of the first are Gustav von Lode (1633–1705) and David Werner (approximately 1650–1704); the author of the second by Adam Friedrich von Fischbach (birth date approximately 1635-1683/93), secretary of the Estonian Knighthood and the Supreme Provincial Court; the third is authored by district councillor (Landrat) Otto Fabian von Wrangell (1655–1726). As one form of literature of the nobility, early modern chronicles offer a broad field of interpretation, ranging from the authors` own political goals, self-image and mentality ending with the determination of sources used in the texts.
