On Baltic German literature at the conference of the Nordic and Baltic Germanists and cross-cultural German Studies

The project member and PhD-student at Tallinn University, Marin Jänes gave a paper on the multilingualism of Baltic German literature at the congress of Nordic and Baltic Germanists which took place in Vilnius and at the conference of the association Gesellschaft für Interkulturelle Germanistik held in Seoul.

On 12–14 June 2024, Vilnius University hosted the 13th congress of the Nordic and Baltic Germanists Nordisch-Baltisches Germanistiktreffen where Marin Jänes presented a paper about the reflections of societal multilingualism in Baltic German Literature and its Estonian translations – Repräsentation der gesellschaftlichen Mehrsprachigkeit in der deutschbaltischen Literatur und in ihrer estnischen Übersetzung.

On 28–30 June 2024, the association Gesellschaft für Interkulturelle Germanistik held the conference Krisen als Impulse für die Germanistik? Überlegungen, Untersuchungen, Reflexionen (Crises as an impulse of Germanistics? Considerations, research, reflections). Marin Jänes’ presentation Die Krise des Deutschbaltentums im 19. Jahrhundert und ihre Reflektion in der Sprachsituation scrutinised the crisis of the Baltic Germanness in the 19th century and its reflections in linguistic situation.
