Die Konferenz findet im Rahmen des vergleichenden literaturgeschichtlichen Forschungsprojekts „Literarische Darstellungen der frühneuzeitlichen Krise in Mittel- und Nordosteuropa“ des Under- und Tuglas-Literaturzentrums der Estnischen Akademie der Wissenschaften und des Instituts für Philosophie der Tschechischen Akademie der Wissenschaften statt und steht im Zusammenhang mit dem Forschungsprojekt „Begegnungen, Übergang, Wandel: nobilitas haereditaria ac litteraria in der Entwicklung der frühneuzeitlichen Literatur im polnischen und schwedischen Livland“ (PRG1926). 1509 Erdbeben in Istanbul.
